“Katie Peters (KP) is a true inspiration! I invited Katie to speak at Wood County Hospital’s Celebrating Nursing Kick-off Event in May of 2018, after hearing about her from a mutual friend. I plan these every year and like to kick of the celebration with a motivational, humorous, and inspirational speaker every time, as I know that everyone can use a nice pick-me-up every now and then. The audience of nurses, their families, and I were not disappointed! Katie has a true gift; we laughed, we cried, and I personally prayed that I too could change my outlook to one that uses kindness more often than not. Using her true life stories and witty connections to the real world, she connected with everyone in the room. If you want to be inspired, want to laugh, and want to take a few points home with you to improve your own life, you can’t go wrong with KP! I have also been asked by many to have her back for the whole hospital and I will definitely work to make this happen”.
-----Marlene Jett BSN, RN Nursing Educator Wood County Hospital We brought Katie in to speak at our annual awards banquet of about 400 people and are so glad we did. Historically, we've invited speakers who have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis to share their story and inspire others. In a way, we were taking a risk by inviting a speaker without a connection to MS, but it was a risk worth taking! Katie is an incredibly engaging speaker who captures the audience's attention from the moment she steps on stage. Her message is delivered using music and personal stories, told through a combination of humor and sincerity. Our attendees thoroughly enjoyed hearing Katie's message, as I believe any audience would. If you have the opportunity to have Katie speak at your event, do it! Don't hesitate.

Using original rap music as an example, Katie highlighted the following points:
* Commit regular acts of Spirit-Lifting * Take care of your emotional health * Be aware of the song you are singing to others * Be aware when others' embarrassment at their OWN lack of effort is displayed to you through ridicule and hate * SING LOUDER Not everyone in your circle is in your corner. Remember that. Peace. A real-life reflection of how life's tragedies and sadness can forever alter you if you let the lessons in.
