Dr. Katie Peters has been named Ohio District 2 Teacher of the Year and is one of 11 finalists to win Ohio Teacher of the Year!
From KP: Today I was hired as an adjunct professor at the University of Findlay in their Education Department and I couldn’t be more excited to start teaching fellow educators at such a warm, welcoming place. I will be teaching in the Graduate Program, helping fellow educators become better researchers and surveyors of scholarly information, and I could not be more excited!
I am so lucky to be able to do this while still keeping my full-time employment, teaching and publicly rallying for my incredible district: Washington Local Schools. In the BEST blessing ever, Washington Local has also agreed to allow me to do some (unpaid) educational consulting and professional development so I am able to sprinkle our brand of awesome to both my district and other districts, and still stay in the classroom full-time, teaching and loving teenagers. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t have it all when you work for people who encourage you to stretch and reach. In the words of my amazing Superintendent, “We want to see you thrive and grow.” ️ In the meantime, if your school or business is looking for someone (with a LOT of energy ) to speak about workplace culture, empathic approach or how to preserve mental sanity and boundaries, send them my way! I promise you won’t be disappointed! |
